Friday I had the day off and I decided to sit down, take a look at all the new Bear goodies coming out, and see what I want to put on my 'list to get'. After perusing World of Raids 2.3 PTR Encyclopedia and ooohing and aaahing over all the jpegs of items, I decided there had to be an easier way to assess the gear and decide what items were optimal. Unfortunately, there was not a quick and easy option...or, at least, not one I found. Why, oh why, couldn't Emmerald or Huge Hoss update their lists the second new gear comes out on the player test realm? Don't they know how impatient I am?
But wait! I have Rawr! Surely Rawr can help me! I rush to open it and go to the add new items tool and begin entering in my first item...unfortunately, it was unable to find any of the new items. Grrrr.... I test the add items tool with a currently existing item and it pops in nicely but, for some reason, it can't find the new content. /sigh
After I got over my disappointment with my prior, lazy methods of gear assessment, I finally came to the conclusion that I'm gonna have to do it 'old school'. Yep...spreadsheet time. Thankfully, I remember seeing a link to Huge Hoss's spreadsheet on the forum post linked above, so I go there and download it, and begin keying in all the new tank leather gear. After I got all that keyed in, I then entered in my current gear on the first tab so I can compare the stats with what Rawr shows (since they use the same calculations)...just to see if the program shows the same as the spreadsheet. Thankfully, it was close...not on the money exact same figures...but close enough for me. Yippy! That means the ranking numbers for the gear I entered is correct! Well, as long as I didn't transpose any numbers or make any typos...
The Point System
Before I freely hand you the results of my hard work and a whole day spent...let's first go over Huge Hoss's and Rawr's point system. They base gear ranking on Mitigation points and Survival points. Mitigation is based on the stats that help you avoid damage such as dodge, defense, and armor. Survival points are based on stats that help you absorb damage such as health. I don't know why the Mitigation and Survival points don't add up to the Score assigned. That's just the way the spreadsheet worked and who am I to question it? One last point to note is that the Score assigned through the spreadsheet does not match the scores listed on the forum post by Huge Hoss...again, I don't know why, but the order of the items seemed to stay the same and I'm really only concerned with where the new items fit in the order of rank.
Added Items
I added all the new leather items that were obviously Bear gear items. If I missed something you feel should be in the list, please let me know. I also added the Arena Season 3 items as well as Season 2 items. I don't know why season 2 was not in the spreadsheet's original listing.
Gem Assumptions
I made notes of the gems I assumed in the items I added. I used the highest ranked rare quality gem on Emmerald's list. Keep in mind that if you use epic gems, the score will improve. I do not know what gems were assumed in the items that the spreadsheet already had in its database as no notes in the spreadsheet were given.

Before I start going and computing how many heroics I will have to run to earn the badges I need to buy everything on the same day, let me ask you one question....
why is the Shoulders: Mantle of Shadowy Embrace not on the list at all? Are the Shoulders of Assassination really better?
I don't know why they are not on the list. I used Huge Hoss's list and only added 2.3 items. I don't know why it's not in the original spreadsheet, but it ranks at 1222 as I just plugged it in to get it's score.
My bad...made a typo on the spreadsheet. The Mantle of Shadowy Embrace is 1355...updating main post in a second.

Well, right now, I'm looking at one of Emmerald's spreadsheets for Bear gear. I'm hoping I can get his ranking for the new items as well. I generally look at both Emmerald's and Huge Hoss's lists as well as the stats of the items and what I need to work on to decide what my gear choices will be. Once I get that done, I'll look at doing the kitty ones too. :)

I also notice you used the "General's" PVP items in your list. I assume this is because that's what Hugehoss used, but the upgrade to those, the "Veteran's" is more relevant, and I'd love to see where the 2.3 PVP upgrade - the "Vindicator's" will fit in with your calculations. I hate PVP and BGs, but I'll grind em if I have to.

I used the list that was currently in Huge Hoss's spreadsheet and then added the 2.3 items as well as Season 2 arena gear. I don't know why the items you guys listed weren't originally in his list. But, I will add them later this evening. :)

I haven't forgotten about the requested additions. I've been busy with work...the end/beginning of the month is my busiest. :( I should have the PvP gear and other items added by the weekend!
