I win at Hallow's End!!!

After about 30 Headless Horseman runs, I finally got my Sinister Squashling pet Saturday evening. I am a happy Druid now. :D

I would like to give a HUGE thanks to all my guildies who helped me make all those runs until he finally dropped. Especially those that did the 'marathon run sessions' and those who saved their summons specifically for me and even brought in alts so we could use their summons as well. And, I'd like to give a big mooshy thanks to my hubby as he endured 90% of those runs.

My heartfelt congratulations!
I'm a priest just as hell-bent on collecting all sorts of quirky pets, and my boyfriend must endure it, too, but his patience for the Headless Horseman is limited... thankfully, with all these alts around in my guild we have lots of candles available. And would you think the blasted squashling would have dropped for me? Two people I know have it... both druids... and in about 40 runs I haven't even seen it once! I swear, they just love you druids! Now, Horseman, you still have a squashling for me... put it down, and no one gets hurt! *threatens Headless Horseman with the wrath of doom*

Luckily, I can attest that it's not just dropping for Druids. One of our Warriors got him on Thursday evening...first night of the event. :)

It seems to only drop just when you've begun to think it won't...kinda like the quest items that never drop until you complain about it. ;p

Grats Mooire! Big yays!

I am so happy you got your pet....

I ran a 5 pack of the Horseman opening day, and got the DPS ring. Would I like to ahve gotten a pet? Sure!

But it wouldn't ahve been right tog et a pet, when you put forth so much effort to earn yours.

Enjoy your squishy Squashling!

You should keep trying! Pets are important and you can't make it through a raid without them. ;p

You know...I didn't even roll on the ring or any of the brooms on all those runs. All I wanted was the pet. LOL Maybe I should check the ring out to see if I want it.

Whee, congrats on the squashling! Now we want a screenshot!

Any advice on the encounter? My very small casual guild has not been having much luck. Part of that is numbers -- we don't have a lot of 70s, so even my 62 druid was attempting to help out (and getting squashed).

But we've had poor luck with LFG as well. Even our 70 holy priest wasn't getting picked as a fifth man for any group.

Also, we may be undergeared as well (see small guild == not running many heroics, much less 10-mans), but I don't know how much of a gear-dependent fight it is, nor am I really up on the gear everyone else is wearing.

(( sigh ))

I did a write up on tanking the HH here...

Typically, he's not hard...however, if you have some lowbies and/or undergeared people, you will need to have your 'game face' on and really be on your toes. We have wipped a couple of times and usually it was because we had 3 or more lowbies or undergeared people and we charged in without taking the event seriously. You might make sure you guys use elixers to help make up the difference in gear and just keep trying...a lot can be pulled together with just persistance.

Mooire... Will the madness ever end? I swear, Blizzard must release a new pet each patch just for you. :P Your new pet can expect a jawless bite sometime soon...
